As a photographer, there’s nothing quite as heartwarming as capturing the joy of the holiday season, especially when it includes our furry companions. This year, I had the privilege of photographing several dogs along the beautifully festive Historic Main Street in St. Charles, and it was a blast!

From the Christmas lights to the timeless cobblestone and brick streets, Main Street transforms into a holiday wonderland every December. Add in the charm of dogs donning their best Christmas sweaters and scarves, and you’ve got my dream setting.

The Charm of St. Charles During Christmas

Historic Main Street in St. Charles is renowned for its classic Christmas celebration, complete with carolers, horse-drawn carriages, and cheerful shop windows. It’s a scene that feels like stepping into a storybook. Every corner of the street offers a new backdrop with the vintage lampposts wrapped in garland and the glow of Christmas trees peeking through shop windows.

For dog lovers, this setting is perfect for creating unforgettable holiday memories with their pets.

Photographing dogs on Main Street is both a challenge and a delight. Each pup brought their unique personality to the session.

Tips for Photographing Dogs on Main Street

    1.    Choose the Right Time: Early mornings or weekdays are less crowded, making it easier to get those perfect shots. I like to shoot early in the morning on Main Street in December. You'll find me there every weekend from 8-10 am.

    2.    Bring Their Favorite Treats: Positive reinforcement is key to keeping their attention.

    3.    Do you want to Accessorize?: Whether it’s a cozy sweater or festive accessories, ensure they’re comfortable and not restricted. Totally optional!

    4.    Be Patient: Dogs feed off your energy, so stay calm and make the experience fun.

5. Use the leash in public places. In most cases, it's best to keep your dog leashed, and I remove the leash in photoshop later.

If you’re looking to capture your dog’s festive spirit in the magical setting of Historic Main Street, let’s create something special together. Whether it’s a solo session or a family portrait, I’d be thrilled to work with you and your furry friend.

I hope to see you and your pup on Main Street next season!

Welcome to the World, Baby Jett!

There’s nothing sweeter than celebrating the arrival of a new little life, and I’m thrilled to share a glimpse of baby Jett’s newborn session with you. From his tiny fingers to his peaceful expressions, Jett was a dream to photograph.

This session was made even more special with the presence of his big sister, who absolutely adores her new baby brother. The love between these two is already so evident.

These portraits aren’t just photos—they’re memories that this family will treasure forever.

Thank you for letting me tell your story through photographs and trusting me to document this incredible chapter in your lives.

If you’re expecting or know someone who is, I’d love to help you capture these fleeting moments with your little one. There’s nothing more rewarding than creating timeless portraits that celebrate the love and joy a new baby brings.

Introducing Fine Art Pet Portraits: Capturing the Soul of Your Beloved Companions

As a photographer, I’ve always believed in the power of images to tell stories, evoke emotions, and preserve memories. Recently, I’ve discovered a new passion that brings together my love for artistry and my deep appreciation for animals: fine art pet portrait photography!

Why Fine Art Pet Portraits?

Our pets are more than just animals—they’re family. They greet us with wagging tails, purring cuddles, and unconditional love. Each has a unique personality, quirks, and expressions that make them irreplaceable. My goal as a fine art pet photographer is to create timeless, professional-quality portraits that celebrate your pet’s individuality.

What Makes Fine Art Pet Portraits Special?

Fine art photography goes beyond a snapshot. It’s about crafting an image that feels like a masterpiece—a work of art worthy of hanging on your wall. Through thoughtful composition, lighting, and an artistic touch, I aim to capture your pet’s essence, creating portraits that feel as alive and vibrant as your furry friend. Every photograph is designed to be as unique as your pet, whether it's the wisdom in the eyes of your elderly dog or the playful energy of your kitten.

The Process: What to Expect

Creating a fine art pet portrait is a collaborative experience. Here’s a glimpse of what the process looks like:

    1.    Consultation: We’ll start with a conversation to understand your pet’s personality, your vision, and determine the best location : your home (indoor/outdoor), meet at a quiet area at a park (leashes are removed in photoshop), my studio, or on my property. This can be as simple as an email or a phone conversation.

    2.    Photo Session: The session takes about 15 minutes. While your time might be a little easier if your dog is trained for sit/stay commands, it is definitely not necessary. Bring some treats!

    3.    Artistic Editing: After the session, I carefully select and edit the best images. Then, you are presented with a gallery from which to choose the images you'd like for an enhanced artistic edit. I create a fine art quality while staying true to your pet’s spirit.

    4.    Final Product Delivery: This is meant to be more than just a digital copy. I want to help make your final product to be displayed beautifully. Your portraits are printed on premium materials like canvas or fine art paper, ensuring they become cherished heirlooms. Digital copies are also available. See pricing below.
